BLOOMINGTON – Extreme Motors in Bloomington presented two checks at their Extreme Nissan location today to Autism McLean and America’s Gold Star Families.
The charities were a part of the “Test Drive to Change Lives” initiative, which provided $5 for every test drive taken. The dealership, which sells both new and used cars, raised $5,000 for the two.
“What we would like to do, and what we’re very proud to do is present a check as part of our test drive initiative, to Autism,” said Dan O’Brien. “In order to do it properly, I’d like to introduce my employee who has been touched by Autism in his own family.”
“As a father of a child with Autism, it is an honor to have someone like Autism McLean in our area,” said Director of Finance Doug Moore.
Extreme Motors was able to present $2,000 to Autism McLean, which will utilize the contribution by helping families with children with Autism send the kids to camps and provide other opportunities for family and siblings.
The next check presented went to America’s Gold Star Families. The check for $3,000 went to the program, which assists families who have a fallen veteran.
“We support families of the fallen on both a regional and national level, we provide scholarship for families of the fallen and throughout the year we have several events where they can come together where we can honor their fallen hero,” said President of America’s Gold Star Families Patti Smith. “We continue to provide honor, hope and healing for those with any military loss.”
