NORMAL, Ill (WMBD) — Normal Community High School star Gavin Swartz was drafted in the 11th round of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies.
Swartz was a two-way player in high school and did damage with his bat and arm. He batted .296, but his arm is what scouts were gushing over. Armed with a mid-90s fastball as well as a slider and a changeup. With Normal, he posted a 2.19 ERA with 105 strikeouts in 105.2 innings pitched.

Swartz has committed to Indiana to pitch in the Big Ten, so he will have a choice to make on whether to go pro or not.
