BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The Bloomington Center for Performing Arts celebrated another sold-out show this weekend.
Comedian Henry Cho’s July 12 performance, part of his The Empty Nest Tour, sold out more than 1,100 tickets, according to Gina Volk, the city of Bloomington’s Art & Entertainment spokeswoman.
Cho is known for his clean comedy shows and has performed on The Tonight Show, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central and Netflix.
“Our goal is to create lasting memories for our community through exceptional live entertainment,” said Anthony Nelson, Director of the City of Bloomington Arts & Entertainment Department. “As Bloomington continues to grow and our downtown becomes an even more vibrant destination, we’re seeing increased interest in arts and entertainment. That allows us to attract bigger artists and offer more experiences for our community. The response to Henry Cho has been incredible, and we’re excited about the lineup we’ve built for the months ahead.”
The center hopes to continue the momentum with several of its other upcoming shows, including Mitchell Tenpenny, Melissa Etheridge and Deana Carter.
A full list of upcoming events is available on the center’s website.
