BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Bloomington Mayor Dan Brady has been elected to the Illinois Municipal League Board of Directors.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, new leading officers were elected at the Annual Business Meeting as part of the 112th IML Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, said Katherine Murphy, a city spokeswoman.
In addition to the officers, 34 Vice Presidents were elected to serve a one-year term, including Mayor Brady.
“I am honored to represent Bloomington on the Illinois Municipal League Board of Directors. Serving alongside leaders from across our state gives us the chance to share ideas, learn from one another, and work together on the challenges every community faces,” Brady said.
“Bloomington is a strong, vibrant city, and I am proud to bring our perspective to the table as we advocate for policies that help cities thrive and keep Illinois moving forward.”
IML members also unanimously elected Peoria Mayor Rita Ali to serve a one-year term as Second Vice President of the statewide association.
The Illinois Municipal League is the statewide association representing municipalities throughout Illinois. IML has worked continuously for all 1,294 cities, villages and towns in the state to provide a formal voice on matters involving common interests.
