SPRINGFIELD – Illinois saw a near record July when it came to rainfall and some communities had their wettest July ever and the forecast isn’t changing for August.
State Climatologist Jim Angel said that there are expectations of the wet conditions continuing.
“There’s a lot of moisture in the ground and in the atmosphere for storms to tap into,” Angel said.
Angel said temps should stay within normal ranges. Folks in the southern third of the state may see it a little warmer than average.
