NORMAL – Illinois State University President Larry Dietz says the school is surviving well despite the uncertainty stemming from the lack of a state budget.
Still, Dietz says more certainty about state finances is vital.
“As quickly as we can get a budget in place and we can get confidence that there is ‘x’ amount of dollars that will be flowing to higher education in the future, our history has been a strong history and I think our future is bright,” said Dietz. “But we’ve got to get off of this dime and get some action and get a budget and move forward.”
Dietz says ISU’s finances are in good shape for now, adding that a three percent tuition increase for incoming freshmen will help.
