SPRINGFIELD – If you’re into dressing up for Halloween the desire is there to push your costume to the next level and that may include wearing contacts that change the look of your eyes, but it’s illegal to buy or sell those non prescription lenses.
Eye doctors say that wearing them can result in an infection or worse. The Illinois Optometric Association President Christine Allison said if you need contacts you should see an eye doctor.
“A patient needs to be trained to use the contact lenses appropriately and they should not be wearing them if that has not happened,” Allison said.
