UPDATE (1:35 p.m.) — The Peoria Fire Department reported that three people were taken to the hospital after a rollover crash Monday.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, they located a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of West Garden Street and South Western Avenue with one of the vehicles overturned and a person trapped inside, said Battalion Chief Josh Maroney.
He said crews helped remove a woman from the overturned car. A man was able to exit the vehicle before fire crews arrived. Two people in the other vehicle were also able to exit their vehicle on their own.
They were all provided patient care on the scene and three were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Maroney said.
He said the fire crews stayed on the scene to help clear debris and assist until the vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — One person was taken to a hospital after a rollover crash in South Peoria Monday morning.
Officers with the Peoria Police Department were called at 10:28 a.m. to the intersection of West Garden Street and South Western Avenue to a report of a two-vehicle wreck, Police spokesperson Semone Roth said.
Roth said one of the vehicles had flipped onto its top, and one driver had a broken arm and was taken to a hospital, while another received minor injuries.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation. No further information was made immediately available.
At 11:36 a.m., the Peoria Emergency Communications Center said the intersection was reopened.
