Livington County’s chief prosecutor elevated to associate judge

LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Only months after successfully prosecuting a high-profile triple murder case, Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak will soon become a judge.

The elected judges of the 11th Judicial Circuit picked Yedinak to become an associate judge for Livingston, McLean, Woodford, Logan and Ford Counties.

Yedinak will replace Associate Judge Thomas Funk, who’s retiring March 1.

Livingston County voters elected Yedinak as state’s attorney in 2016 after serving two years as the interim state’s attorney in Ford County.

Last year, Yedinak prosecuted Clifford Brewer who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 murders in Cullom of Brewer’s wife, son and family friend.

Yedinak will be sworn in as associate judge in early March, giving the Livingston County Board time to appoint a replacement to fill the rest of Yedinak’s term.
