MCHD reports two more COVID-19 deaths; rolling positivity rate down to 2.2%

BLOOMINGTON – Two more McLean County residents have died from COVID-19, while county health officials report 35 new cases of COVID-19.

On Thursday, local health officials reported the latest deaths include one female in her 40’s, who was not associated with a long-term care facility. The county’s other death includes a male in his 70;s who was associated with a long-term care facility.

There have been 267 COVID-related deaths in the county.

At last count, 17 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, while 28 people are hospitalized in the county with the virus.

Health officials report 73% of ICU beds and 96% of total beds are in use.

277 people remain in home isolation, while 22,138 have been released from isolation and recovered.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady at 4.3% from Wednesday, while the rolling positivity rate decreased to 2.2% from 2.4%.

Approximately 190,357 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, and 54.85% of the population are fully vaccinated.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 56.07% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.
