MCHD adds vaccine clinics at Grossinger Motors Arena

BLOOMINGTON -After shutting down the mass vaccination site in downtown Bloomington earlier this summer, the McLean County Health Department is adding new vaccine clinics starting this week.

  • Thursday, 9/16 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena
  • Thursday, 9/23 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena
  • Thursday, 9/30 from 10am-3pm at Grossinger Motors Arena

The MCHD will offer first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine and the authorized third dose to those who are moderately to severely immunocompromised and meet the strict CDC clinical criteria to receive an additional dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine (does not apply to Johnson & Johnson vaccine). Walk-ins for mass vaccination clinics are welcome, but pre-registration is strongly recommended.

The arena last served as a vaccination site the final week of July. Over the four months the site was operational, about 50,000 vaccines were administered.
