George Boylan
M. George Boylan, 84, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:33 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at Heritage Health Center in Normal, surrounded by his family.
His memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington with Monsignor Douglas Hennessy officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomington at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Central Catholic High School.
Mr. Boylan was born July 20, 1933 in Bloomington, a son of John and Edith Kraft Boylan. He married his beloved wife Ann Reid 63 years ago in Detroit, Michigan. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mary (Kent Reisdorph) Boylan of Fort Myers, Fla., Kelley (Ed) Ensminger of Normal, Maggie (Brian) Farrell of Shirley; four sons, John (Teri) Boylan of Coal City, Mike (Carla) Boylan, David Boylan and Matthew Boylan, all of Bloomington; 21 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a son-in-law, David Nord and a daughter-in-law, Kim Boylan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann M. Nord and a son, George J. Boylan; a grandson, Nicholas Boylan and a brother, James Boylan.
Mr. Boylan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was attached to the 11th Airborne. He co-owned Boylan’s Ice Cream and Candy Manufacturing company and later owned and operated Boylan Beverages.
Mr. Boylan was elected to the Bloomington City Council in 1965 and served until 1972. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus-Third and Fourth Degree, Florida American Legion and Eagles Lodge in Cape Coral, Fla.

Margaret Steinbach
Margaret E. Steinbach, 96 of Pontiac, Ill., died at 7:15 am on Monday August 7, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Ill.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac with Father David Sabel officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery in Pontiac. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, with the rosary being recited at 9:15 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margaret’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Pontiac Public Library.
Margaret was born on September 29, 1920 in Lowery City, Mo., a daughter of Ernest and Anna J. (Gray) Ocean. She married Leo L. Steinbach on July 29, 1950 in Pontiac. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1981. Survivors include: one son: Roger (Rhonda) Steinbach of Springfield, Ill.; two grandchildren: Ryan (Stephen English) Steinbach of Chicago, Ill. and Sara (John) Kooima of Villa Park, Ill.; three great grandchildren: Natalie, June and Leo Kooima; one sister-in-law: Birdie Ocean of Pontiac; one nephew: Dan Ocean of Pontiac; two nieces: Judy Davenport of Vineyard, NJ and Lisa (Derek) Schaefer of Antioch, lll.
Margaret was preceded in death by one brother: Donald E. Ocean.
Margaret was educated in Missouri and Owego Township Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Women’s Guild.
