Leota LaVerne Brucker, 92, of Cropsey passed away at 8:55 a.m., March 5 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery, Cropsey.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday also at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Cropsey United Methodist Church or McLean County Humane Society.
Mrs. Brucker was born March 22, 1923 in Chatsworth the daughterof Jesse and Myrtle Ekiss Armstrong. At the age of two she and her family moved to a farm in the Cropsey area. She married Henry W. Brucker on Sep. 7, 1947 in Cropsey. He passed away on Nov. 10, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters, Donita Brucker of Cropsey and Darlene (Darrell) McRoberts of Hooper, Utah; three grandchildren Cindy (Joe) Merideth of Chenoa, Brett McRoberts of Layton, Utah and Melissa McRoberts of Seattle, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Michael Merideth of Chenoa.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Brucker, her parents, a sister, Mabel Ringler, and two brothers, Virgil and Dale Armstrong.
She attended Strawn Grade and High Schools; graduating Valedictorian in 1941.
Leota worked for the Cropsey Co-op Grain Company for 20 years and was a manager for three years. At that time the company not only handled grain but also coal, feed, seed, fertilizer, lumber and a complete line of building material. They also operated a feed mill.
She was an accountant for Honegger and company and then worked as an office manager and nation-wide truck driver for Carl Bachtold Mower Co. for 17 years.
One of her main interests was traveling which took her to all of the states numerous times and twenty countries around the world. She especially loved high rugged mountains. She enjoyed all sports and played basketball in high school.
She was an antique enthusiast and acquired large collections of many items including 1750 open salt dips. (Some other collections included toothpick holders, vinegar cruets, marbles, barbwire, spcomer, etc.)
Leota was a member of Charity Home Rebekah Lodge 112, the Fairbury Senior Club, and was the secretary and treasurer of the Cropsey Mutual Water Corp. She was also organized the first Girl Scout troop in Cropsey in the 1950’s and was their leader for a number of years.
Her favorite thing was to “Go where she had never been”

Donald “Don” Miller, 39, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Anchor, passed away on March 5 at his residence.
Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Inurnment will take place on Monday at Argenta Cemetery, Argenta.
Visitation will be held from 1-4:00 p.m., on Saturday also at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his son Brody Miller established at Anchor State Bank.
Don was born June 27, 1976 in Urbana, the son of Donald andKaren Mullins Miller. His father preceded him in death.
Surviving are his son, Brody Miller of St. Charles, Mo.; mother and step-father, Karen (Ralph) Grider of Anchor; maternal grandmother, Nellie Mullins of Mahomet; sister, Rhonda Benter; nephews, Jack and Kyle Benter all of LeRoy; step-brothers, Kerwin (Vicki) Grider of Weldon and Kent Grider of Champaign; step-sisters, Karla (John) Kendall of Chatham and Karen (Terry) Friend of Bloomington.
Don was a high school football coach for St. Charles West High School.

Esther Beverly Pendleton, 87, of Peoria, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 11:59 a.m. on March 4 at Unitypoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Rev. John Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the start of service on Friday at the memorial home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Esther was born on June 29, 1928 in Bloomington, a daughter of Mose A. and Evelyn Hunter Thomas. She married James A. Pendleton on March 26, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1993.
Surviving are her children, Beverly “Rae” (Cedric) Craft of Peoria, Linda Smith of Peoria, Clarence (Beverly) Pendleton of Galesburg, Darold (Debra) Pendleton of Peoria, Gregory Pendleton of Peoria, Mark Pendleton of Dallas, Texas and Jeffrey Pendleton of Peoria; daughter in-law, Jackie Pendleton of Fayetteville, Ariz.; three sisters, Donna Anderson, Evelynn Diallo and Carole Thomas, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Terry (Georgia) Thomas of Flourissant, Mo.; 30 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael; daughter in-law, Piper and five brothers and two sisters.
Beverly was founder of Bloomington-Normal Homecoming Reunion for 25 years. She attended Wiberforce University in Dayton, Ohio and Illinois State Normal University. She was previously employed at State Farm Insurance, Caterpillar, Inc. and a caseworker supervisor for Peoria Township.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much, she will be dearly missed.

Carol Anne Seifert, 54, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:36 p.m., March 6 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday atCarmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with her father-in-law, Rev. David Seifert officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Carol was born Dec.19, 1961 in Chicago, the daughter of George and Dorothy Lou Stewart Mullins. She married Jeff Seifert on Sep. 30, 2000 at Lake Bloomington.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Michael (Marlissa) Mize of Mt. Pulaski, a daughter, Chelsea Whear-Shoger of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Christopher Mize, Tyler Morbe, Peyton Morbe, Jack Mize and Zack Shoger; three brothers, Mitchell (Kim) Mullins of Eureka, Mark (Linda) Mullins of Sacramento, CA and Mike Mullins; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a loving mother to her four legged children, Molly, Kipper, Ozzie and Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Mullins and Dorothy Collins.
Carol attended Bloomington High School and Lincolnland College in Normal. Work was very important to Carol. She was a caretaker for the Marc Center for 25 years and also general merchandise supervisor at Jewel-Osco on Cottage in Normal, where she worked for 20 years.
Carol was an avid baseball fan. She was a die hard supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. She loved the outdoors including fishing and boating. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, the Boy Scouts, going to Six Flags with her niece and spending time with her family.
Carol truly enjoyed people and was a mother to many. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
