BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department has found two birds which tested positive for West Nile Virus in the county.
A third bird was found positive for the virus in August.
The department said despite the drop in temperatures, West Nile is still a risk. Mosquitoes carrying the virus might be present through October.
MCHD director Walt Howe advised residents to continue protecting themselves by “wearing protective clothing, using insect repellent, and limiting time outdoors between dusk and dawn.”
