CENTRAL ILLINOIS – Thousands of people remain without power after several waves of storms rolled through the area Thursday.
Some were still offline from storms Wednesday night but Thursday’s event took out more than 79,000 people statewide, according to the Ameren Illinois Outage map.
McLean County had 4,645 customers offline and without power. Tazewell had more than 13,000 customers offline while Peoria had more than 12,000.
The outages, according to the map, scanned several areas in the county. For some, the map just said, “pending” with no set time for power to be restored.
UPDATED: More reports of funnel clouds in Central Illinois as waves of storms roll in
UPDATED (7:30 p.m.) — Here are some dramatic pictures of a tornado in Fulton County in between Table Grove and Ipava.
WMBD’s Molly Naslund was following the storms in our StormTracker vehicle when she caught these images.



Initial reports indicate the tornado was on the ground for about eight minutes. There was no word of damage from that funnel cloud.
There were also reports of a tornado near Streator but it wasn’t immediately clear if that was an extension of the Washburn tornado.
There were also reports of tornados north of Odell and southeast of Dwight. There was also a report of one near Deer Creek in Tazewell County.
UPDATED: Woodford County hit by tornado; several homes damaged
UPDATED (6:30 p.m.) — Several homes were severely damaged after a tornado ripped through Woodford County on Thursday afternoon.
Dennis Tipsword, Woodford County’s chief deputy sheriff, said he had not heard of any injuries but acknowledged that several homes between Washburn and Spring Bay were struck when the tornado came through an hour or so earlier.
Damage, he said, was centered around the area in between Columbia and Bricktown roads, he said.
A few miles south in the Pekin area, a WMBD crew saw power lines and trees down. Firefighters were at the scene, the reporter said. It wasn’t immediately clear if there was any damage to structures or injuries.

Tornado knocks out power to over 2,700 in Marshall County
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — More than half of Marshall County is without power after a tornado went through the area.
According to Ameren Illinois’ outage map, there are 2,780 customers without power on Thursday, which is 53% of the county.
This comes after a tornado hit the area as part of a series of storms that spread across Central Illinois on Thursday.
Another tornado was spotted in Ipava but no reports on any damage.
