BLOOMINGTON-The LeRoy Police Department has announced the installation of an Amazon hub locker at it’s facility.

That mean’s those worried about having items stolen off the porch can rest easy knowing they can pick up orders in the safest space in town.

LeRoy Sergeant Nathan Wilkin’s said the locker doesn’t take up much room in the station, and should deplete the likelihood of theft crime associated with online orders in the town.

“This is something that we wanted to bring to the community. There is not one around here for us,” Wilkins said.

“In year’s past we have taken reports for people’s packages that have been stolen. As people are starting to return to work this is a great opportunity for them to stop here, pick up a package and not be stolen.”

The locker provides a secure way to have packages delivered without the fear of packages being stolen by porch pirates. When you check out during your purchase there will be an option to have your package delivered to the station instead of at home.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
