BLOOMINGTON – Flu season is quickly approaching and the McLean County Health Department is ready to provide the flu vaccine.
Sue Goodman with the health department said residents should get their flu shots by October.
“Because, typically, flu itself hits us around the holiday season and it takes awhile to build up your antibodies,” said Goodman. “So we like you to be prepared and get it early.”
The health department has walk-in flu clinics every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Some local businesses are also offering flu clinics:
Central Illinois Regional Airport, 3201 Cira Drive, Bloomington: Sept. 15 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
McLean County Farm Bureau, 2242 Westgate Drive, Bloomington: .Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon
