More than 30 years has passed since the class of 1984 placed the Illinois State University seal on the east side of Braden Auditorium.
After years of wear, a new seal was designed by Illinois State Graduate Student George Barreca.
Illinois State University Director of the School of Art Michael Willie is proud of the new seal being put in place Friday.
“We call him generous George,” said Willie. “The idea that a guy from Philadelphia is making this seal for us really talks about the reputation of th University.”
The original steel base is being reused for installation. The new seal is about five feet in diameter.
