NORMAL – Illinois State University officials don’t just put a focus on getting students into their dorms smoothly during move-in weekend. There’s also an emphasis on making students feel welcome, especially incoming freshman.
“First thing that students are looking for when they get to a college campus is, who do I need to know? How do I make friends? How can I find my place?” Vice President for Student Affairs Levester Johnson said.
That’s why Johnson said most of the activities planned for incoming freshman this weekend are aimed at allowing students to make connections.
Among the events taking place are the Redbird Fan Fair Saturday afternoon, when students can meet Redbird athletes and coaches, an outdoor concert on Saturday night and a kick-off barbecue Sunday night.
