BLOOMINGTON – Some local Red Cross volunteers are down in the state of Louisiana to help the effort of getting people the help they need after record setting floods across the state.
Trish Burnett with the American Red Cross of the Heartland said the volunteers are out in full force, but help is still needed.
“The easiest way is that $10 donation through your cell phone,” said Burnett. “It may not be that huge an expense to you, but you know what? It goes a long way in helping other people.”
Text LAFLOODS to 90999 to make a donation.
Burnett said over 10,000 homes have been damaged in Louisiana. The floods in the gulf, as well as at the fairgrounds in Springfield, and the Wildfire currently raging in California underscore the need for the Red Cross.
