BLOOMINGTON – One candidate has applied for a vacant McLean County Board seat.
Josh Barnett defeated Ben Owens in the Republican primary in March and is the only candidate on the ballot in the November election. Owens resigned from his District 10 seat in June after serving on the board for 16 years. He has since endorsed Barnett to finish the remaining four months of his term.
Barnett works for the Advocate BroMenn Medical Center Foundation and serves on the Bloomington Planning Commission.
The County Board’s Executive Committee will interview Barnett at its meeting on Tuesday. Barnett is expected to be sworn in at the board’s monthly meeting next week.
