NORMAL – The annual McLean County Relay for Life brought in close to $270,000 to help fund the fight against cancer.
The event at Normal Community High School kicked off late Friday afternoon and concluded Saturday morning. Staff Support Kimberly Wright said their goal is to hit $370,000 by Aug. 31.
“We have teams doing post event fundraisers,” said Wright. “We have an Insane Inflatable 5K coming to Bloomington, Ill. and they are partnering with the American Cancer Society. So a portion of what they bring in from that event will go to our Relay for Life.”
77 teams participated this year. Donations McLean County Relay for Life can be made online here.
