BLOOMINGTON – A planned power outage caused headaches for some downtown Bloomington businesses who claimed the power company didn’t notify them ahead of time and in some cases the outages were longer than expected.
More than 100 customers in the city’s central business district had power cut off for what was expected to be 20 to 30 minutes on Wednesday so Ameren could make repairs. This happened during the lunch hour which led to problems for restaurants and other businesses.
Bloomington city officials issued alerts on social media shortly before the outages took place.
