BLOOMINGTON – The annual May Community Challenge fundraiser for Home Sweet Home Ministries is halfway done and the group is halfway to its goal.
This year, the public has been challenged by a group of donors to match their commitment of $64,000. Communications Coordinator Chyanne Corrigan said as of Monday they’ve raised about $32,000. reaching the goal would result in $125,000 for Home Sweet Home.
“$125,000 will help hundreds of men, women, and children by giving them hope through nutritious food access, a safe and secure place to live, case management,” said Corrigan. “We have a lot of programs now that are about homelessness prevention.”
Donations can be made online at www.hshministries.org. The public can also donate in person at the organization’s shelter at 303 E. Oakland Ave.
