BLOOMINGTON – Electric and gas bills will be going down for Ameren Illinois customers in the future.
Lower gas rates will result in over $2 of monthly savings for customers starting this month, Ameren’s lowest rate since 2002. Spokeswoman Marcelyn Love said the company is also filing a $14 million decrease in electric delivery service rates.
“Updates to our delivery rates must be approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission,” Love said. “That means these changes will go into effect in January of 2017.”
Love adds that Ameren’s costs continue to remain below the national average.
