PEORIA – The all clear has been given at Peoria International Airport.
The airport was shutdown for about two hours Thursday morning after suspicious package was found. The airport was evacuated while the package was investigated.
News partner WMBD reported Sheriff Mike McCoy said a package dropped off at TSA which had bottles of liquid, a timing device, & sticks/wires labeled “dynamite.”
Further investigation revealed a white woman in her 30s was traveling with the materials, which are being called a “simulated bomb.” McCoy said the woman travels to Planned Parenthood locations with the materials to show what to look for in a threat.
There is no word if the woman is being brought up on any charges.
