BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington aldermen will have a chance Monday night to sign off on the new managers of the U.S Cellular Coliseum.
City Manager David Hales recommended last week VenuWorks, based out of Iowa, to take over the management duties. Hales explained says the contract the council will be voting on Monday is for 90 days.
“It is for $1 per month with the city picking up any costs associated by VenuWorks employees and their travel, lodging and other supply costs,” said Hales. “During the time of this contract, we’ll actually prepare and then later submit to the council the actual five year contract.”
The final contract will include the ability for the city to terminate the agreement after three years.
The council also plans to vote Monday on a resolution which would support keeping the Bloomington golf courses as city owned and operated entities. Additionally, the city will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget for the next fiscal year.
