SPRINGFIELD – It’s been more than nine months since Illinois has had a budget.
You may think that means both chambers would be working feverishly to find a solution. That is not the case as the Illinois House is taking a nearly two month break.
Illinois State Senator Bill Brady thinks the long break is irresponsible.
“They’re not scheduled to come back into session until after April,” said Brady. “I’m really worried about the stress that’s going to place on our universities and colleges.”
Brady said the Senate has met sparingly this year, but will be back to work next week.
