BLOOMINGTON – The state of Illinois has finalized the ballot for the March Primary, so early voting will start Thursday in McLean County.
Objections over the presidential candidates for both parties threatened to delay the start of early voting, but McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael said all of those objections were dropped.
“This is the earliest (state lawmakers) have ever authorized early voting,” Michael said. “Personally, I feel that it’s a bit too early, just for instances like what happened here.”
The only place ready to handle early voting Thursday is the Government Center in Downtown Bloomington.
Bloomington Election Commission executive director Paul Shannon said the BEC is also ready for early voting Thursday.
