BLOOMINGTON – Statements from two credit unions will be entered into evidence in the Kirk Zimmerman murder trial.
His defense attorney tried to block subpoenas requesting financial information from the State Farm Credit Union and the Mid-Illini Credit Union, but Judge Scott Drazewski allowed the information because of its relevance to the case.
Statements from three other institutions – Sprint, Comcast and Best Buy – were also entered into evidence.
Zimmerman is accused of killing his ex-wife Pamela in November 2014. The prosecution argues Zimmerman killed his ex-wife, in part, because of a dispute over money. He was held in contempt after the divorce for failing to pay child support.
The prosecution also argues Zimmerman was jealous over Pamela’s recent engagement.
Zimmerman will be back in court for a status hearing on March 29.
