CLINTON – It’s been just over a year since 17 year old Evan Workman of Clinton took his own life.
His father Randy spoke with WJBC’s Terry James about “Evan strong,” an organization that’s been created to prevent suicide.
“I’ve learned that there is a drastic need for education,” said Workman. “Not only education for the person who is having the problem, but for the people who might be the recipient phone call saying ‘I’m having a problem can you help me out?’ and they don’t know what to say, they freeze.
Workman says everyone needs to have a plan of what to say when they are approached by a suicidal friend or family member.
