BLOOMINGTON – McLean County’s newest board member is a familiar face.
Former board member David Selzer of Normal was sworn in Tuesday to replace Sonny O’Connor, who is moving to Texas.
Selzer said he came back to the board because he loves serving the community.
“If you listen to the rhetoric that goes on both at a local and national level, you have two choices: You could listen to the rhetoric or you could get involved,” Selzer said. “That’s truly why I got re-involved: to be part of the solution, not the problem.”
Selzer served on the board from 2000 to 2009 before moving to Champaign, but he moved back to Normal a few years later. He’s currently the President and CEO of Community Health Charities of Illinois and is also a member of the comptroller’s Local Government Advisory Board.
