BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington project engineer Ryan Otto has been promoted to assistant city engineer, a position vacated by Bob Yehl earlier this year when he was promoted to Bloomington’s water director.
Otto has worked for the city since 2005 as project engineer. Prior to that, he was employed by Farnsworth Group.
“Mr. Otto has demonstrated and grown his strong ability in engineering through over a decade’s worth of work already with the city of Bloomington, and I have every confidence in his ability in his new role,” explained public works director Jim Karch. “He is committed to the excellent stewardship of public infrastructure.”
Otto holds a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Illinois. Otto is an Illinois Licensed Professional Engineer and a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. His promotion is effective as of Nov. 30.
