BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has pleaded guilty to his role in the theft of $40,000 worth of copper from a decommissioned residence hall.
Tyler Reinitz, 31, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted burglary and in exchange, charges of burglary were dropped. He was sentenced to six months in jail and two and a half years of probation.
Reinitz was arrested in November 2014 after university police caught him and Jacob Schultz, 31, on a hidden camera outside of the old residence hall.
Schultz pleaded guilty in August to a felony theft charge and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
