NORMAL – Mitsubishi Motors North America and the United Auto Workers Local 2488 have agreed to another temporary extension of their collective bargaining agreement as the company prepares to close the plant.
A news release states the agreement which was set to expire at midnight on Monday has been extended through Thursday. No further details were given.
Mitsubishi workers were given notices last week that the plant will cease production on Nov. 30, though some operations will continue through next May. A task force continues to look for a potential buyer for the site.
