BLOOMINGTON – McLean County’s second installment of property taxes is due on Tuesday.
Payments not received in the office or postmarked by Sept. 1 will be assessed a statutory interest penalty of 1.5 percent per month.
Payments are accepted in the Government Center at 115 E. Washington Street, Room M101, Bloomington. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The collector’s payment drop box is located off of the East Street entrance to the building. Tax payments may also be mailed, paid by credit card online (fee applies), or paid at most local banks. Taxpayer’s should check with their bank to make sure they accept tax payments.
Taxpayers may obtain a duplicate copy of their bill by visiting www.mcleancountyil.gov, emailing treasurer@mcleancountyil.gov or calling (309) 888-5180. Taxpayers that did not receive a bill because they recently purchased a property, no longer escrow or moved, should contact the office. All mailing address changes related to the bill should be reported to the Supervisor of Assessments office by emailing assessor@mcleancountyil.gov or calling (309) 888-5130.
The annual delinquent tax sale is Oct. 28.
