BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A new candidate is announcing his campaign for Bloomington City Council Ward 8.
Mark Adams, an active member of the Twin Cities community, says he brings eight years of economic and community development experience as an AICP-certified Urban Planner.
“I am a proud Redbird alum, Unit 5 School Board Member, President and Co-Founder of the Bloomington-Normal Community Land Trust, Co-Chair of the McLean County Housing Coalition, and I am an AICP Certified Urban Planner with eight years of experience in economic and community development. I have a passion for community service,” said Adams in a press release.
Adams plans to focus on three main points during his campaign. He wants to prioritize making more affordable housing in Bloomington, find tax relief for senior citizens and work to make childcare more affordable in Bloomington.
Currently, Kent Lee holds the Ward 8 seat, and it is unclear whether he is running for re-election.
