NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — A person is in custody Friday morning after allegedly being involved in a late night shooting in Normal that left another person in serious but stable condition.
The incident happened in the 700 block of North Golfcrest Road which is on the northwest side of town. Officers with the Normal Police Department were called to the area on a report of shots being fired.
When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. That person was taken by paramedics to a local hospital, according to police.
“Based on the information gathered thus far, investigators believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim and suspect are known to one another,” according to a Normal police spokesman.
More information about the suspect, including his name, age and what possible charges he could be facing will be released at a later time, police said.
There is no information, Normal police said, to indicate any ongoing threat to the community.
