BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bloomington man was arrested earlier this week in connection with a Missouri casino robbery.
Hollis C. Vanleer Jr., 20, was arrested on a slew of warrants in Missouri, including first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, and criminal trespass to a vehicle, among others, said Bryce Janssen, a Bloomington Police Department spokesman.
On June 25 at 3 p.m., officers found Vanleer and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Washington and Caroline streets and arrested him, taking him to the McLean County Jail, said Janssen.

Vanleer remains at the jail while he awaits extradition back to Missouri for his alleged involvement in a robbery of the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, Janssen said.
Boonville is a small city just west of Columbia, Mo., about 280 miles from Peoria.
According to investigators in Missouri on Wednesday, March 25, two men, one armed with a rifle and another armed with a handgun, allegedly went into the casino and stole more than $1.2 million from the bank area.
“One suspect was arrested on March 26. Following an extensive investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and its law enforcement partners, Vanleer was identified as the second suspect and charged in connection with the robbery,” Janssen said.
Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington said he commends the joint effort in arresting Vanleer.
“I commend our Street Crimes Unit and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force for their outstanding work,” said Simington.
