NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — Maggie Miley’s Irish Pub in Uptown Normal is installing a new patio for patrons to enjoy their drinks and food outdoors.
The patio will seat up to 40 more people at a time, allowing the pub to serve more patrons in a day.
“This is something that’s been in the works for a while. We’ve had to readjust our plans a few times, but it’s going to be about a 40-seat patio surrounded by boxwood plantings, with an arched gate and, eventually, maybe an outdoor bar,” said Josh Eddings, pub manager. Not only will the patio give the pub more business, but it will also allow them to hire more staff to run the patio, giving more job opportunities for people seeking employment.
“It will increase sales and provide more jobs for local people looking for employment,” Edding said.
The patio is expected to be completed sometime in June. It’s located to the left of the pub, in what used to be an alleyway for cars.
