EUREKA, Ill. (WMBD) — Eureka College hosted a ribbon-cutting Thursday morning, celebrating the opening of its new Student Success Center.
The newly repurposed 27,000 square foot building will serve as a central hub for academic and student support services.
It will focus on improving retention, graduation rates and student success.
“Something that I’ve gained since I’ve been here is a sense of community. And I hope that this center will bring more people together so that they can get a greater sense of community,” said junior Maleah Hill.
“Once you have that, you really appreciate what others do for you and what you can do for others, and to carry that back on.”
Eureka College spent $4.7 million for this phase of the project, with the overall cost projected to be $11 million. The next phase of the project will include a cafe.
