BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A Bloomington man was charged in federal court on Friday with allegedly sending threats across state lines
Sean E. Lenckus, 35, was charged with sending interstate threats and was released on bond after his initial court appearance, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Lenckusa allegedly sent several threats of injuring to another person from February 2023 through April 2026.
He was arrested on Friday with help from the McLean County Sheriff’s Office.
If convicted, he faces a $250,000 fine and up to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, according to the news release.
This incident was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Springfield Field Office, and the McLean County Sheriff’s Office.
