Fairbury – Rader “Sony” Wilson Scott, 84, of Fairbury, passed away at 1:30am, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Chenoa.
His funeral will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at LeRoy First United Methodist Church. Pastors Floyd Blackard and Eric Swanson will be officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.
Rader married Winnie Lou Crum on June 12, 1955 in LeRoy. She passed away May 14, 2015.
Surviving are two daughters, Shelley Schahrer of Fairbury and Sonya (Michael Snider) Scott of Champaign; two grandsons, Daniel (Sarah) Schahrer and Matthew Schahrer; two step-grandchildren, Steven Schahrer and Vanessa Schahrer; and four step-great grandchildren; and sister, Gerada (Dan) Sperry of Bloomington.
Rader was preceded in death by, sister, Wanda Sandage; two nieces, Susan Smith and Judy Ann Fonger; two nephews, Curtis Lucas and Steven Sandage; and son-in-law, James Schahrer.
Rader was proud Veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict.
He worked for Style Craft in LeRoy and last worked for the United States Postal Service.
He was a member of LeRoy First United Methodist Church, American Legion and the VFW. He also was a 32nd degree Mason.
