UPDATED (1:35 p.m.): The Bloomington Police Department released the name of a man arrested for a Bloomington shooting on Tuesday that left a man dead.
Deshaun Bussell, 25, of Bloomington, was arrested and booked in the McLean County Jail on charges of murder and aggravated battery, said Bloomington police spokesman Bryce Janssen.
At 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, officers with the Bloomington Police Department were called to a Casey’s located at 2017 Fox Creek Road to a report that someone had been shot in the parking lot, he said.

When officers arrived, they found bystanders giving aid to Van Wilson, 57, who had a gunshot wound, Janssen said.
“Paramedics with the Bloomington Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to a hospital in Urbana, Illinois, for further treatment,” Janssen said.
Bussell had allegedly driven away, and police were able to do a traffic stop on his vehicle with help from a “community member,” Janssen said.
Bussell was then arrested at 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday and taken to the McLean County Jail, where he remains as of Wednesday afternoon.
URBANA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Champaign County Coroner has released the name of a man who was killed in a Bloomington shooting.
Van Wilson, 57, was pronounced dead at 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Carle Hospital Emergency Department in Urbana, Coroner Laurie Brauer said.
At 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21, Bloomington Police Department officers went Casey’s on Fox Creek Road after receiving a report of a shooting. There, they found a man with a gunshot wound.
The man, identified as Wilson, was taken to the hospital but later died.
A man was taken into custody in connection with this incident at 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday.
