BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Construction on part of Hamilton Road in Bloomington is scheduled to start Monday.
Weather permitting, work will start between Bunn Street and Commerce Parkway on Sept. 29, said city of Bloomington spokesperson Katherine Murphy.
The project will include roadway and infrastructure improvements along Hamilton Road, Bunn Street and Rhodes Lane.
Murphy said this phase includes hot-mix asphalt pavement, new curb and gutter, storm sewer installation, sidewalks, a new railroad crossing, a multi-use path, water main upgrades, fencing and other related work outlined in the plans and special provisions.
While traffic will remain open during this time, drivers should expect impacts from construction. During the initial stage of construction, these will be on Rhodes Lane between Bunn Street and Morrissey Drive.
The contractor will stage operations so that residents and businesses will have access to the roads.
