Cookie “Delores” Martin, 64, of Hudson, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on June 22 at Heritage Health in Normal.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington with Jason Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the memorial home in Bloomington.
Interment will be at Hudson Township Cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hudson Fire Department or Kids Christmas Rescue Run, Local 2442 Normal Fire Fighters.
Cookie was born on Oct. 16, 1950 in Fairbury, Ill., a daughter of Theodore Byard “Ted” and Alma Kessinger Williams.
Surviving is her son, Butch Martin of El Paso; granddaughter, Paige Martin of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandson, Kyle Martin of El Paso; sisters, Brenda (Jerry) Schwartz of Normal and Cricket (Steve) Miller of Hudson; niece, Andrea (Bryan) Hoggins; great nephew, James Marty; great niece, Haddie Hoggins, all of Lexington; nephew, Ryan Miller of Bloomington; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Preceding her in death are her parents and grandparents.
Cookie’s family moved to Hudson when she was a teenager, she was a 1968 graduate of Normal Community high School. She was employed with Eureka Williams for over 20 years and Nestle for 5 years. She moved to the Blair House in Normal a year ago and she enjoyed her apartment and made many friends there.
She was an avid Nascar and National Hot Rod Association fan. She especially liked Jeff Gordon. Cookie enjoyed camping and was a former member of the Corn Belt Boat Club.

Floyd D. “Buddy” Powell, 75, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:28 p.m. on June 21 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the start of service on Friday at the memorial home.
A private family interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the family.
Buddy was born on Aug. 21, 1939 in Bloomington, a son of Floyd D. And Hazel Olsson Powell.
Surviving is a daughter, Amy (John) Scott; three sons, Kevin (Sarah) Powell, Kenneth (Teresa) Powell and John (Tammy) Powell; 18 grandchildren and many beloved great grandchildren.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hazel Powell; three brothers, Tommy Powell, Jerry Powell and Stanley “Red” Powell; one son, Ricky Adams and one daughter, Melissa Powell.
He was a dedicated auto technician and carpenter for many years. Buddy had a love and passion for all animals and vintage cars. He enjoyed camping, fishing and boating.
Buddy was a loving and caring father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by his family and friends.
