BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — Connect Transit is making a major change to its bus route, allowing public transit to service more places in the Twin Cities.
The “mint” route will take effect on Oct. 5, replacing the old “red express” route, which is ending on Oct. 3. The new route will run during the day, seven days a week, in a 30-minute continuous loop around the cities.
The “red express” route was only in use for limited weekday hours and served as a small extension from the “red route”, serving only parts of Fort Jesse Road and Jacobssen Drive, making this new route more accessible. The route will start at 6:35 a.m. and end at 9:05 p.m., 6:05 p.m. on Sundays.

“This change reflects our ongoing commitment to better serve the community with more consistent and convenient transit options,” said David Braun, managing director of Connect Transit, in a press release.
The route will start at Walmart in Normal, and reach different roads like Greenbrair Drive, Landmark Drive and Shepard Road, and make key shopping locations, medical buildings and residential buildings more accessible. A full schedule of stops is listed below.
