SPRINGFIELD – The state fund which is distributing COVID-related donations has completed Round Five – the final round. Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund chairwoman Penny Pritzker says the focus is on groups headed by and / or working with the less-represented but harder-hit by the pandemic.
“We found five demographic groups were most impacted,” she said. “The African-American community, the Latinx community, seniors, the impoverished rural communities, and the significant undocumented community.”
Pritzker is a former Obama cabinet member, and her little brother is the governor. The total passed out: – more than $31 million to 1,650 organizations.
