SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker is pleased with the progress Illinoisans are making to defeat coronavirus — so far! History may repeat itself.
“Will there be another spike?” Pritzker asks. “If everybody follows the rules, based upon what I’ve read, we shouldn’t have another spike — except for this: the ‘Spanish flu’ from 100 years ago, the last great pandemic, when they got to the fall, it spiked even higher than it was in the spring. So a lot of people, including doctors, are worried about that possibly happening” with coronavirus.
I want to thank Gen. Neely and the hardworking members of @IL_Natl_Guard for standing up our 11 community based testing sites, including this one here in Chatham. Collectively, our state drive-thrus can take more than 6,000 specimens daily, and tests are completely free. pic.twitter.com/yBr9dgq4L4

He added Illinois is much better prepared now than three months ago. At an unrelated event in Moline, Pritzker praised everybody for wearing masks.
