BLOOMINGTON – It’s May and that means it’s time for Home Sweet Home Ministries’ annual May Community Challenge.
The annual fundraising campaign involves a group of donors offer to match the amount of money raised by the community. Spokesman Matt Drat said this year the donors will match up to $50,000, making the overall goal $100,000.
“That money stays here in our community. It supports the men, women and children that literally are our neighbors,” said Drat. “This is something that we need right now in particular because we know that the challenges of homelessness and poverty in our community continue to be large ones.”
This is the sixth year for the campaign. Drat said 2014’s challenge brought in $96,000.
